Acupuncture and Chronic Pelvic and Prostate Pain

Chronic prostatitis and related chronic pelvic pain conditions may be caused by a bacterial infection, inflammation from an injury or infection, or any multitude of other problems. Symptoms may include inflammation, pain, difficulty voiding and sexual dysfunction. Men of all ages can experience this condition. In a 2021 study, participants who received 20 sessions of acupuncture over the course of 2 months, not only experienced a reduction of symptoms but maintained the level of improvement reached for 6 months after the conclusion of treatment. Acupuncture is able to assist with immediate and long term relief. Many seeking relief from the associated symptoms welcome acupuncture as a treatment option.
